Jazz HQ’s Certification as Green Office

Jazz became the first and only Telecom operator in the country with three of its office premises Green Office Certified. This was after the IBC I & II buildings passed the WWF’s Green Office Audit as a result of considerable decline in the business carbon footprint.

The feat was only made possible through a host of initiatives taken by the CR and the support exhibited by the entire Jazz team that enabled us to add yet another international accolade to our name.

Shaukat Khanum CSR Award

Jazz received the annual Shaukat Khanum Social Responsibility Award, for the third consecutive year for extending generous support to the hospital and the Trust.

CSR Excellence Award

Jazz won top honors at the 8th Annual CSR Excellence Awards 2015, which were conducted by the CSR Association of Pakistan. The award was received under the ‘Innovation’ category for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities which were endorsed as one that leverages business strengths to offer high impact social solutions.

WWF’s Award of Innovation

WWF Pakistan acknowledged the efforts of Jazz by honouring it with “Award of Innovation” for introducing various innovative campaigns to raise awareness amongst the employee force. Jazz has been able to certify 3 of its main business premises as ‘WWF Offices’ by implementing an office Environmental Management System which has helped to reduce the company’s office carbon (non-technical) footprint.

Pakistan Center for Philanthropy

Jazz Foundation became the first and only telecom industry CR function to receive certification by the Pakistan Center for Philanthropy (PCP). The certification was awarded in recognition of the Foundation’s excellence in large scale humanitarian and social development initiatives across the country, after an extensive evaluation that assessed the Foundation for internal governance, structure, financial management and program delivery. The awarding of PCP certification is a testament to the efficacy and outreach of the Jazz Foundation’s interventions and establishes the credibility of its institutional operations.

GSMA’s Global Mobile Award

The GSMA’s Global Mobile Awards 2013 recognized Jazz Foundation’s efforts in education by selecting the ‘SMS Based Literacy’ program as the winner of the inaugural ‘Connected Life Awards’. The program was deemed to be the ‘Best Mobile Education or Learning Product or Service’. The program, Jazz Foundation’s flagship corporate responsibility project aimed at educating rural Pakistan, was highlighted by the competition’s jury as an “excellent and needed mobile initiative with an explicit educational ideology that opens up new learning opportunities for a disadvantaged rural group.”

Green Office Certification – World Wide Fund for Nature

Jazz successfully qualified for the WWF’s Environmental Audit to become the first and the only certified telecom operator in Pakistan to have received the ‘Green Office Certification’ from WWF. Jazz received the Green Office Award in recognition for its environmentally sustainable practices as introduced at its regional office in Lahore for a 35% reduction in carbon footprint and 50% in solid waste, among other measures taken.

Shaukat Khanum Corporate Social Responsibility Award

Jazz Foundation was the recipient of Shaukat Khanum’s Social Responsibility Award for Top Contributing Corporate. The award acknowledged the Foundation for being the Top Donor of 2012.
